Corporate Money - Tony Castro For Congress 2024

Tony Castro Refuses Corporate Donations For His Campaign

Clean Money Candidate

Tony Castro is the Non-Corporate, Pro-Union, Progressive Democrat for Fullerton City Council in District 5. Tony Castro refuses corporate donations for his campaign so he can be free to serve the people of Fullerton. Political studies show that once a candidate accepts corporate donations for their campaign, they tend to vote in the interest of their wealthy donors 80% to 100%  of the time. Tony Castro's promise to Fullerton and to his constituents is to never accept corporate or special interest donations for his campaign so he can be free to fight for the voters.

Their Hands Are Tied And Now They Owe Favors

This happens much to often, candidates promise everything and deliver nothing. Some candidates do start out wanting to help change the community for the better. The problem is that once a candidate accepts corporate donations for their campaign, they are no longer free to accomplish what they originally intended. Corporations donate money to political campaigns to buy influence in the government. They want favors, big corporate C.E.O.'s are only after huge profits at anyone and everyone's expense. What favors do they want? Corporate tax loopholes and corporate welfare. They don't want to pay taxes, yet they still want tax returns. Tony Castro is the only candidate running for Member of the Fullerton City Council, in District 5, who refuses corporate donations for his campaign.

Initiator Leaders vs. The Same ol' same ol'

Candidates and politicians such as Tony Castro, Professor Paul Wellstone, Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, And Professor Peter Mathews are examples of initiator leaders. They all have something in common, they all refuse to accept corporate donations for their campaign because they genuinely want to get elected to change the world for the better. Candidates such as Oscar Valadez and Ahmad Zahra are great examples of the same ol' same ol'. Oscar Valadez is 100% backed by marijuana dispensary-king pin Tony Bushala and is only running to benefit the marijuana dispensaries. Councilman Ahmad Zahra has his hands tied is cannot help the community because he is bought off by big corporations. Fullerton needs new leadership that is brave enough to stand up to big money and say Enough Is Enough. Vote for Tony Castro for Fullerton City Council in District 5 by November 8, 2022.

Tony Castro Supports Small Businesses And Small Business Owners

Tony Castro believes that small businesses, not including big corporations, should receive some type of tax incentive to help pay their employees a higher minimum wage. Tony Castro also believes in a $25 an hour national minimum wage. He knows that small business owners cannot afford to pay their employees a $25 minimum wage on their own and will need some help. That's when the Federal Government/Congress should step in and help small businesses pay their employees a higher minimum wage. Tony Castro does not believe in helping big corporations with any kind of tax breaks, loopholes or tax incentives. Instead, we should give small business owners tax breaks to help them pay their employees a higher minimum wage. Small businesses provide over two thirds of the jobs in the United States, therefore Congress should step in and help small business owners and stop helping big corporations. Big corporations had enough help, it's time to help the underdog.

Tony Castro Fights To End Unfair Corporate Tax Loopholes

Big corporation have been getting away with not paying their fair share in taxes and still receiving hundreds of billions of dollars in tax returns and tax breaks since the early 1970's. This is also known as corporate tax loopholes and corporate welfare. When only 27.5 billion dollars was paid in welfare to aid the poor, large corporations were receiving 300 billion dollars a year in corporate welfare; according to the I.R.S. This is a result of money in politics and corporate donations to political candidates. Tony Castro refuses money from corporations for his campaign so he can be free to put an end to corporate tax loopholes and fight for the people, the working class and small business owners in Fullerton.

Top Platform Issues Proposed By Tony Castro For Fullerton City Council

End Homelessness

End Homelessness with Housing First. Housing First is a program successfully being used in Utah. The program entails Housing homeless people First, then addressing mental health or substance abuse issues. Finland has zero homeless people in the entire country. Tony Castro can work with State Legislature and our Members of Congress to find a permanent solution to homelessness.

Rent Control

Fullerton currently does not have a Rent Control policy. Rent Control is necessary to help build a stronger middle class. Rising costs of rents will only cause more homelessness, poverty and crime. The city of Santa Ana, Ca just implemented Rent Control. San Francisco and Oakland have been successfully using similar Rent Control programs.

Infrastructure

The first pipes in Fullerton were built over 100 years ago in 1919. The roads are overdue and in need of repairs or upgrades. Cracked, uneven, broken up roads with potholes in Fullerton cost drivers extra money. On average drivers pay an extra $500 a year on damaged wheels, steering suspension and other vehicle damage caused by neglected roads.

After School Programs

Cambridge England has after school programs that are open until 10:00PM on weekdays and 2:00AM on weekends. We need these types of after school programs for our youth.

Prepare Children For Kindergarten

Countries like Finland, Germany & Sweden give new parents up to 15 months paternity leave with up to 100% pay. Preparing children for kindergarten, begins when parents talk, read, and sing to their newborn children in the first 6 months of being born. Tony Castro supports similar paternity leave programs.
