U.B.I. (Universal Basic Income)

Automation has taken away forty percent of our jobs globally. Artificial Intelligence is replacing people at their work place. Even union carpenters, right here in the 46th district, are being replaced with technology. This is creating more poverty amongst the working class. While corporations enjoy record earnings and profits at the expense of the American people. Shame on our congress members and local politicians for allowing this to happen to the American people. The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, and the middle -class is disappearing. Congress sold out the American people, congress is bought off by big corporations, and they owe favors to their super wealthy donors. I refuse corporate donations for my campaign so I can be free to fight for the people. This is the peoples campaign. People powered, to power the people.

End Poverty With U.B.I. (Universal Basic Income)

In a study that took place in Los Angeles and San Francisco, California, 100 homeless people were each given $750 a month, Universal Basic Income, for one year. That's a total of nine-hundred-thousand dollars. The Study was conducted by the San Francisco nonprofit Miracle Messages and the University of Southern California School of Social Work. Studies showed that Universal Basic Income works. People who were given the money used it for housing and food. 36.6% was spent on food and shelter, 19.5% was spent respectively, 12.7% on transportation, 11.5% on clothing, 6.2% on healthcare, and 13.6% on other expenses. Only about 2% of the money was spent on , alcohol, cigarettes and drugs; and most of that 2% was spent on cigarettes.

Who Qualifies, Who Gets The Money, How Much, & For How Long?

I support a plan to give emergency funding in the amount of $10,000 a month in Universal Basic Income to people who need it. $5,000 a month for a second year and $2,500 a month for 28 more years. This is a 30 year plan to end homelessness and to prevent poverty. This would be emergency funding, that would come directly from the federal government, to help the following people: anyone earning minimum wage, not earning a livable wage, unemployed, living in poverty, deep poverty, homeless people, disabled people, impoverished college students, veterans, senior citizens and people without pensions. This money is specifically for homeless people, poor, working-class, and working-middle-class people, including union workers. Individual situations will determine the monthly amount given to each person. Some people will get more and some people will get less. Depending on your specific individual needs.

$10,000 A Month For 12 Months

Homeless people and people earning minimum wage will definitely get the full ten-thousand dollars a month for the first year. The ten-thousand dollars is only for 12 months then it will be reduced to five-thousand dollars a month for the second year. On the twenty-fifth month, the amount would be reduced to two-thousand five-hundred dollars a month for an additional 28 years. This is a thirty year plan to end and prevent poverty in the United States.
