Smaller Class Sizes - Tony Castro For Congress 2024

Smaller Class Sizes K-12

Community Colleges and Universities were tuition free in California during the 1960's and 70's. The first Governor Pat Brown implemented a policy in California called "The Master Plan For Higher Education" which entailed tuition free Community Colleges and Universities all the way through Medical School.

Benefits Of The Master Plan For Higher Education

California had Nobel Prize winning talents coming from U.C. Berkeley and scientific advancements coming out of the Silicon Valley such as computer software. California's educational system was the envy of the world and many countries adopted the idea and still use it today. Countries such as Slovenia, France, Germany and Sweden. Politicians who enjoyed tuition free education are the very same politicians who have taken this opportunity away from us today. U.S. Representative Lou Correa attended tuition free college at Cal State University Fullerton during The Master Plan. Why have politicians taken these opportunities away from us. We need to bring tuition free Colleges and Universities back to California.

What Happened To The Master Plan?

The problem exists when a political candidate accepts corporate donations for their campaign. Corporations donate money to political campaigns because they want favors from politicians. Political studies show, candidates that accept money from corporate lobbyists tend to vote in the interest of the corporate donors 80% of the time. Once a candidate takes corporate donations these politicians are no longer free to work for the people. They have to serve the corporations who helped get them elected and not the voters who got them elected in the first place. Tony Castro Refuses corporate donations so he can be free to work for the voters.
