I Refuse Corporate Donations

Tony Castro For Congress March 5, 2024

Stop Trump

If Donald Trump runs for the Presidency and loses. He will claim and demand victory. He will storm the Capital and White House with his Arian, European, Neo Nazi, White Supremacist followers. This will create a civil war in the United States. Donald Trump also wants to implement a dictatorship and dismantle our democracy. He has plans to arrest and imprison democrats and community organizers. We need to stop Donald Trump and hold him responsible for his criminal actions. #LockUpDonaldTrump

Big Money VS. Poverty

Big corporations are offering me money for my campaign. I continuously refuse their offers. I will never accept corporate lobbyist donations for my campaign. Chip Ahlsweed, Vice President, of the Fullerton Apartment Association, offered me an Endorsement / Campaign Donation / P.A.C. Money. If I agreed to remove Rent Control from my issues and platform. I laughed in his face and told him he was barking up the wrong tree. I also told him that I was not for sale and the people are finally going to be represented. He continued begging me, day after day, to help him raise rents and evict poor people from apartments in the City of Fullerton. I was one of the poor people who got kicked out their apartment, due to a $500 rent increase. After my rent was raised from $1,800 a month to $2,300 a month. I was forced to move out because I could not afford the rising cost of rent in Fullerton, CA.

Which Side Are You On?

I am not for sale and cannot be bought. I will never accept corporate money for any of my campaigns, ever. I am only interested in helping the poor, middle-class, and homeless people. The Rich and super wealthy billionaires don't need anymore help. It's time to help the underdog.

My Plan For America's Future

In general, I will make America competitive in the global economy again. Specifically, I will make sure every person in the United States gets: permanent housing, free transportation, free groceries, $10,000 a month, and make sure everyone's basic needs are met first. I will also implement a $25 an hour minimum wage. I will include a law preventing corporations from raising any of their prices for the next 30 years; to prevent more inflation. What good is a high minimum wage if everything else goes up with it? This is the peoples campaign. A vote for me is a vote for you and your family. If I win, you win. I'm fighting for us.

I Refuse Corporate Donations & P.A.C. Money

Since I refuse corporate donations, I need help from you, the people. Please donate to your campaign. Without corporate donations I can actually deliver my promises. Candidates run with the best of intentions. The reason they don't deliver is because they are bought by big corporate donors. It's very hard to raise the money necessary to win. It cost a minimum of $4,000,000 to win a congressional campaign in California. That's why candidates turn to corporate donors. Please Donate.

Big corporation have been getting away with not paying their fair share in taxes and still receiving hundreds of billions of dollars in tax returns and tax breaks since the early 1970's. This is also known as corporate tax loopholes, corporate welfare, corporate tax incentives, and corporate handouts. When only 27.5 billion dollars was paid in welfare to aid the poor. Large corporations were receiving 300 billion dollars a year in corporate welfare; according to the I.R.S. This is a result of money in politics and corporate donations to political candidates. I refuse corporate money for my campaign so I can be free to put an end to corporate tax loopholes and fight for: the people, the working class, homeless people, poor people, small businesses and small business owners across the United States.

Tuition Free Colleges And Universities All The Way Through Medical School

"The Master Plan For Higher Education". California had free colleges and universities all the way through medical school during the 1960's and 1970's. We had Nobel Prize winning talents out of U.C. Berkeley and Scientific advancements in the Silicon Valley; like software. California's Educational System was the envy of the world. Other countries adopted our model and still use it today. Even Iran offers tuition free higher education. How is the United States supposed to be competitive in the global economy with an uneducated workforce. Americans can get a university education and degree, for free, in Germany. Other countries offer Americans free higher education but the United States cannot offer Americans free higher education.

Combat Climate Change / Climate Disruption

The sea level is rising and this problem is irreversible. 300 million people are at risk of losing their homes.  I have been recognized for my research on climate change in two published books. The most recent book I am mentioned in is "Dollar Democracy On Steroids" by Professor Peter Mathews. Find my story on chapter one. This is the most important issue. Without our planet, none of the other issues matter.

End Homelessness Now With Housing First

Permanently house homeless people immediately. Housing is a basic need and should be guaranteed to us by our government. It will take twenty billion dollars to end poverty in the United States. We need to invest in our people.

Rent Control To Prevent More Homelessness

We need Rent Control to prevent more homelessness. California actually has a statewide Rent Control Policy. No politician will enforce it because they accepted corporate donations for their campaign. Since your politicians accepted money from apartment associations, they cannot help us because they owe favors to their donors. My rent was raised from $1,800 a month to $2,300 a month in one shot. For a 1 bedroom apartment in Fullerton, CA. I went to a city council meeting in Fullerton, CA and explained to the city council about my rent increase. Mayor Jung said "California has a Statewide rent control policy. Raising the rent that high would be illegal". The Mayor referred me to the state. They wouldn't help me either. So I ran for city council in 2002 to implement rent control in Fullerton. I refused a corporate endorsement and donation from the Fullerton Apartment Association. Chip Ahlsweed, vice president, of the association, offered me the endorsement. But I would have to agree to remove rent control from my campaign platform. He begged me several times to accept the endorsement. To help him evict people and raise rents in October, 2022. I refused his corporate lobbyist donation. So I can be free to serve the renters instead.

Strengthen Unions To Build A Bigger Middle-Class

I'm union carpenter, local 803. My father is a retired union laborer, local 652. My grandfather was also a union laborer. 90% of my uncles and cousins are union carpenters, Laborers, and Teamster's. I grew up in a union home, with a union family, with union values. I believe unions are necessary to help grow a bigger middle-class.

$25 An Hour National Minimum Wage

Congress needs to step in and help small businesses. Small business owners cannot afford to pay their employees a livable wage. Congress can help small businesses by helping them pay their employees a livable wage. Big corporations get away with corporate tax loopholes and corporate tax welfare. Paying zero dollars in taxes and still receiving hundreds of billions of dollars in tax returns. While small business owners are paying high levels of taxes. We need to close unfair corporate tax loopholes and force super wealthy corporations to pay their fair share in taxes. Small businesses create over two-thirds of the jobs in the United States. While big corporations outsource our jobs over seas and across the border. We need to bring this money back to help small businesses thrive and end the unemployment crises.

Meet Everyone's Basic Needs

We should not let people get so hungry that they are forced to steal food. Shame on the government for allowing the people to starve. A person is not a criminal for stealing food to feed their family. The politicians are the guilty ones for letting the people get that hungry in the first place. There is no reason why we should have hungry and homeless people in the United States. It would only cost 20 billion dollars to end homelessness and poverty in the United States. We gave Ukraine 120 billion dollars since 2022. Why couldn't we keep 20 billion of that to fight the war on poverty here at home.

Universal Single Payer Free Healthcare

Healthcare is a Human Right, not a privilege, and should be guaranteed to us by our government.

Raise Social Security For Senior Citizens

We need to raise the amount of social security for senior citizens to prevent poverty and homelessness.

$10,000 A Month U.B.I. (Universal Basic Income)

The Master Plan For Universal Basic Income brings emergency funding to, immediately, end homelessness and poverty in the United States. This money is for people living in poverty, close to poverty, and under the poverty line. This includes: homeless people, low income families, minimum wage employees, college students, and the middle-class. This is a 30 year plan. $10,000 a month for the first year, $5,000 a month for the second year, and $2,500 a month for the remaining 28 years.

Protect Human Rights Including Women's Full Reproductive Rights

Healthcare, education, and access to a quality of life are Human Rights. Our governments job is to protect our human rights.

End All Unnecessary Wars Immediately

Ceasefire, and free Palestine. We also need to address the war in Ukraine.

Support Small Businesses And Small Business Owners

I believe that small businesses, not including big corporations, should receive some type of tax incentives to help pay their employees a higher minimum wage. I also believe in a $25 an hour national minimum wage. I know that small business owners cannot afford to pay their employees a $25 minimum wage on their own and will need some help. That's when the Federal Government / Congress should step in. I do not believe in helping big corporations with any kind of tax breaks, loopholes, tax incentives, welfare, or handouts. Instead, we should give small business owners tax breaks to help them pay their employees a livable wage. Small businesses provide over two thirds of the jobs in the United States. While big corporations are sending our jobs overseas. That's why Congress should step in and help small business owners and stop helping big corporations. Big corporations had enough help, it's time to help the underdog.

Write-In Candidate

Yes you can vote for me, and yes I am running for Congress against Congressman Lou Correa. My name will not be on the ballot because I did not raise enough money. If you want to vote for me, you have to write my name in. You have to physically write the name "Tony Castro" on the ballot. Do not vote for Lou Correa. I want to make it clear. Don't vote for Lou Correa. Lou Correa cannot help the people because he accepts corporate donations and owes favors to billionaires. Make sure to write my name in, "Tony Castro", instead of voting for Lou Correa. There are 4 different candidates running for the same seat. I'm the only one who refuses corporate donations from super wealthy donors. Vote Tony Castro on election day.

People Powered, To Power The People!

This is the peoples campaign. I am running for you and for the sake of our children's future. I refuse corporate lobbyist donations for my campaign. So I can be free to serve the people and not super wealthy donors. When elected, I will be the only Member of Congress to get elected without any corporate donations. My goal is to truly represent the interest of the people. I do need your help. So please donate if you can. Even $1 will help.

Vote For Tony Castro On March 5, 2024

The congressional primary election will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. The top two candidates who get the most votes in the primary election will advance to the general election held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. I need 31,000 votes to win the primary election. The 46th Congressional District entails the following cities: Fullerton, Anaheim, Orange, Santa Ana, and Stanton.

We need Rent Control to prevent more homelessness. My rent was raised from $1,800 a month to $2,300 a month. For a 1 bedroom apartment in Fullerton, CA. I went to a city council meeting in Fullerton, CA and explained to the city council about my rent increase. Mayor Jung said "California has a Statewide rent control policy. I refused his corporate lobbyist donation. So I can be free to serve the renters instead. #RentControl

About Tony Castro For Congress 2024

I discovered my strong interest in the study of politics in my introductory American Government class, at Cypress College, in 2004. My enthusiasm for this subject was sparked by a discovery that politics does not have to be about money and power games, but should be about making a positive difference in the world. Since then, I became the treasurer, then the president of the associated student body at Cypress College. I became the co-coordinator for "Rescue Education California" and worked for the "California Democratic Party" in Orange County. I also managed congressional campaigns for candidates who refuse corporate donations. On separate occasions, I volunteered to teach elementary and junior high kids about leadership in politics and other subjects like digital media and computer science. I have been recognized in several media sources including the Orange County Excelsior, Press Telegram, The Wave Newspaper, The German Angel Show, Fox 40, Univision, and other local radio, print, and T.V. news media.

Political Background

In 2005, during my involvement with "Rescue Education California", we successfully contributed in blocking the tuition hike for higher education. I also worked against the Arnold Schwarzenegger special election in 2005. I worked with "(V.E.R.F.)" the "(Voter Education Registration Fund)". A satellite operation in Orange County formed by the "California Democratic Party" to increase democratic registration. In 2011, I participated in an oil extraction fee initiative campaign to bring funding for education and Rescue Education in California. The state wide Oil Extraction Fee Initiative on crude oil that I was involved with would have brought new revenue to the state of California; $3,000,000,000 a year extra. Enough revenue to make California colleges and Universities affordable all the way through medical school. I recently managed a non corporate congressional campaign during the 2022 June primary election. I have been politically involved, on the non corporate side of politics, for the last two decades. It is now time for me to apply my experience and knowledge to help get myself elected against a corrupted and corporate influenced House of Representatives. "It's time to take our house back!"

Political Qualifications

I started managing congressional campaigns in late 2004. In 2005, I helped  Lou Correa and Gil Cisneros get elected. "My bad. I'm truly sorry for that." I'm a community organizer, volunteer, outstanding citizen and recognized for excellence in the community by the O.C. Register’s Excelsior Spanish Newspaper. My research on climate change, environmental justice, and affordable Colleges and Universities is mentioned in a published book called “Dollar Democracy On Steroids” by: Professor Peter Mathews. I was the Co-Coordinator for Rescue Education California. A grassroots organization that successfully blocked tuition increases in 2005. R.E.C. also fought for smaller class sizes K-12 in the 1990's. I also worked for the California Democratic Party's "Voter Education Registration Fund" to increase the number of democratic registration in the 46th Congressional District. In 2011, I participated in an oil extraction fee initiative campaign to bring funding for education and Rescue Education in California. I also fought against Arnold Schwarzenegger's special election in 2005. I ran for City Council in Fullerton, Ca in 2022 and almost won with no corporate donations. My message was so strong, I decided to run for congress. I have a completely progressive, pro-union, and non-corporate platform with realistic and bold funding mechanisms.

How Congress Works

standing committees they are involved with passing a bills into law. the committee designs and write the laws. then the whole house votes on the bill to pass by majority vote. the same version goes to the senate. veto bill must go back to each house to be passed by 2/3 vote. if they pass it by 2/3 majority then it can become law against or without the presidents agreement. that's called over-writing the veto. if they cannot muster a 2/3 majority between both houses then the bill dies and the veto is sustained. house ways and means committee writing tax law. house international affairs committee laws that deal with united states and other countries. house budget committee passing the laws and policies of the federal budget, allocating the federal budget.  6 trillion annual federal budget, 34 trillion debt deficit over a trillion,

I'm not asking for a lot. I'm just asking the federal government to do their job. Do you know what the federal government is actually supposed to do? What is their job description and what are their duties?

Their Job Is To Spend Your Money

Four Trillion Dollars Of Your Hard Earned Money Each Year

Plus The Two Trillion They Borrow Every Year And Pay Back With Interest

End Homelessness Now With Housing First

Finland has successfully housed every homeless person in the country. The State of Utah has copied the model and is finding it prosperous. I support Housing First at the national level. #HousingFirst

Rent Control

I'm The Only Candidate Whos Family Was Honored With A Mural

By the way, the mural in the background is a mural of my family. I mean my actual family. This is the Cypress Street Mural that the Orange Police Department have vandalized and tried to remove many times in the past. They are trying to erase our history. The Orange International Street Fair actually started in front of this mural. It was called "The Jamaica" before it was changed to the International Street Fair. It was a place for community to unite and grow. Now it's just a bunch of rich people getting drunk and littering our City. I will bring funding to encourage more artistic talents.

Tony Castro For Fullerton City Council in District 5 on March 5, 2024

Tony Castro For Fullerton City Council is a Fullerton resident, community organizer, volunteer, an outstanding citizen and is recognized for excellence in the community by the O.C. Register’s Excelsior. Tony Castro’s research on climate change, environmental justice, and affordable Colleges and Universities is mentioned in a published book called “Dollar Democracy On Steroids” by Professor Peter Mathews. Tony Castro was a Co-Coordinator for Rescue Education California, a grassroots organization that successfully blocked tuition increases in 2005. Tony Castro also worked for the California Democratic Party's Voter Education Registration Fund to fight against Arnold Schwarzenegger's special election in 2005. Tony Castro has a completely progressive, pro-union, and non-corporate platform with a realistic and bold funding mechanisms.

The Non-Corporate, Pro-Union, Progressive-Democrat For Congress

Tony Castro is the non-corporate, pro-union, progressive candidate for Fullerton City Council. Tony Castro refuses corporate money and special interest lobbyists donations for his campaign. Tony Castro believes that these types of contributions corrupt and have a negative impact on a politicians policy making decisions. Once a candidate accepts money from corporations or special interest lobbyists, those donors will then feel entitled and expect favors in the future. Tony Castro wants to be free from any influence on his decision making. That way he can be free to deliver his platform and promises to the voters in his district. Tony Castro pledges, to his voters and his district, to never accept corporate money in his career as a public servant.

Tony Castro comes from a legacy of unionized working class Americans. Tony Castro worked as a union carpenter for the Local 803 Carpenters Union based in Orange, CA. His father recently retired from the Laborers Union local 652 and most of his uncles and cousins are union carpenters and union laborers. Tony Castro believes that unions represent the best interest of working class Americans. Without unions, corporations are free to exploit and take advantage of their employees. Tony Castro believes that unions are necessary to help build a bigger middle class.

Tony Castro Supports Small Businesses And Small Business Owners

Tony Castro believes that small businesses, not including big corporations, should receive some type of tax incentive to help pay their employees a higher minimum wage. Tony Castro also believes in a $25 an hour national minimum wage. He knows that small business owners cannot afford to pay their employees a $25 minimum wage on their own and will need some help. That's when the Federal Government/Congress should step in and help small businesses pay their employees a higher minimum wage. Tony Castro does not believe in helping big corporations with any kind of tax breaks, loopholes or tax incentives. Instead, we should give small business owners tax breaks to help them pay their employees a higher minimum wage. Small businesses provide over two thirds of the jobs in the United States, therefore Congress should step in and help small business owners and stop helping big corporations. Big corporations had enough help, it's time to help the underdog.
